The Tokyo Canadians Hockey Club (TCHC) faced off against the Sparx for the second time in 2024.

First period: The young Sparx came prepared, utilizing their speed to create chaos in the Canadian defensive zone. However, Tatsumoto, the Canadian’s goaltender, shut down their efforts, maintaining a 0-0 score until the TCHC managed to break the deadlock with the only goal of the period scored by Yamashita (assisted by Larose).

Second period: Both teams exchanged a total of four goals. After failing to score in the first period, the Sparx struck first with an unassisted goal from Tomoaki, which was quickly followed by unassisted goal from the Tokyo Canadians’ kantoku, Killer Carlson, who intercepted the puck in the neutral zone, skated into the Sparx end, and used the defenseman as a screen to beat the goalie, Hirano. The Sparx then responded with two goals from Yosuke (assisted by Shintaro) and Aori (assisted by Kenji), bringing the score to 3-2. Big Josh Fly (assisted by Koby) tied the game at 3-3 with a clean, long shot from outside the face off circle.

Third period: The ice was tilted into the Sparx zone as the TCHC scored three unanswered goals. Larose, (assisted by Yamashita and Fly), started the scoring spree with the winning goal, swatting a bouncing puck over the goalie’s shoulder.

Bureau then added two more goals to put the game out of reach, securing a satisfying 6-3 victory for the TCHC. This win was especially sweet after their 10-7 loss to the Sparx in February.
