Smile & Dream Charity Tournament

Charity & Causes

Tokyo Canadians Hockey Club and Smile and Dream held a charity tournament at Shin-Yokohama in September 2011. Below is the statement by TCHC and the Smile and Dream:

The junior hockey team in Ishinomaki lost their home rink because of a devastating tsunami that hit the city. Most of the kids in the team lost their family or friends in this tsunami and were forced to live in stressful environments.

The TCHC collaborated with Smile and Dream to open a friendly tournament, whose goal was to give these kids to get away from the all the stress, and same time provide them an opportunity to play the sports they love with buddies in team again.

Hopefully, this activity will give some hope to continue playing hockey in the future. At the same time, we will be raising funds at this event to donate directly to the rink to help them get back to playing hockey in their hometown.
