Community & Charity Work

Supporting causes and scoring goals off the ice

Throughout the year, the Tokyo Canadians Hockey Club (TCHC) holds fundraising functions and donates a portion of the proceeds to charity.
On March 27, 2024 the TCHC hosted a fund raising Charity Trivia Night at Hobgoblin Pub in Roppongi, Tokyo. All profits from this event went to support the Mercy Centre in Bangkok, Thailand.
The TCHC raised ¥117,000 at this event.

The TCHC, the Tohoku Freeblades, and NADIA, an NGO which was founded in response to the disaster that began on March 11, 2011,  joined forces to accelerate recovery efforts for the people and children of the Tohoku region.

A partnership between TCHC, Xebio, and the Tohoku Free Blades developed charity events based around hockey and sportsmanship with a view to further strengthening the bonds this has forged between Canadians living in Japan and our Japanese hosts. The team takes this role seriously, takes pride in being able to help out whenever possible, and strives to provide support to organizations that help others.

We hope to continue our support of these worthy institutions and possibly add others to the list in years to come.
